THE ARCHIVE BIT

All files have what is known as an "archive bit" within them, essentially this is like a light switch in which can be switched on or off.  If the "archive bit" is flipped on it will indicate that the file has been backed up, when the "archive bit" is turned off it will indicate that the file requires backing up.

FULL BACKUPS

A full backup will backup all files selected regardless of the "archive bit", it will also flip the switch on all the files indicating that the files are backed up.  This solution takes a lot of resources, time, disk space.  But it is also the easiest to restore.

INCREMENTAL BACKUPS

An Incremental backup will backup only those files that have changed since the last time they were backed up, it will also flip the switch on the files indicating that they are backed up.  This solution allows for smaller, faster backups using less disk space and resources.

BACKUP SETS

Our system allows you to create unlimited "sets" for backing up.  Say you want all your accounting data backed up every day with a full backup, and because it is critical data, you wish to store a full months of backups on the server you can!

Create custom backup sets, decide when you want them backed up and how many copies you want to leave for immediate restoration.  That simply cannot be done using a ZIP drive, or Burning your data to a CD!

RESTORING DATA

As easy as clicking a button.  Select the files you want to restore, and then click the restore button.  That is all there is to it.
